The Charmonium Spectrum on the Lattice: A Status Report
نویسنده
چکیده
This is a status report on our calculation of the charmonium spectrum. Our first results were presented last year [1]. An important aspect of this calculation, the determination of αs from the charmonium spectrum, has already been reported separately [2]. The detailed results of this study will be presented in a future publication [3]. The calculation of experimentally well measured quantities in the charmonium spectrum serves several purposes. The investigation of physical quantities that are sensitive to the systematic errors present in lattice calculations can lead to a better understanding and possibly the removal of these errors. On the other hand, a quantity that is relatively independent of the systematic errors of the lattice calculation can be used to obtain information about fundamental parameters of the Standard Model. In Refs. [1,2] we argued that the 1P-1S splitting falls into the latter class of quantities and therefore lends itself to an accurate determination of the strong coupling constant of QCD. The splitting between the J/ψ and ηc, on the other hand, is expected to strongly depend on the leading lattice spacing errors. This splitting and the leptonic decay amplitude of the J/ψ are expected to also show some dependence on the charm quark mass. One might therefore use these two quantities in a study of the former type. Some of the details of the calculation are described in section 2. The effect of the omission of sea quarks has already been discussed in detail in our analysis of αs. In section 3 we discuss their effect on the hyperfine splitting and the leptonic

Charmonium from Lattice QCD
Charmonium is an attractive system for the application of lattice QCD methods. While the sub-threshold spectrum has been considered in some detail in previous works, it is only very recently that excited and higherspin states and further properties such as radiative transitions and two-photon decays have come to be calculated. I report on this recent progress with reference to work done at Jeff...
متن کاملCharmonium spectroscopy from an anisotropic lattice study
We present a progress report on our study of the charmonium spectrum in full QCD on anisotropic lattices generated by the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration. We adopt a large basis of interpolating operators to extract the excited charmonium states using the variational method. A detailed spectrum of excited charmonium mesons in many JPC channels is obtained. Hybrid states with exotic and non-exotic...
متن کاملCharmonium Spectrum from Quenched Lattice QCD with Tadpole Improvement Action
We report here our lattice simulation on the charmonium spectra. Because the full adjustment on the nonperturbative parameters such as CE , m0as and rs needs many calculation time, we only adjust two of them, m0as and rs( ξ3 plays this role in the paper) but with some rescale for mass splitting. After the rescale, we find that our results are in agreement with the experiment ones.

We review our recent results on the J PC = 0 −− exotic hybrid charmonium mass and J PC = 0 −+ , 1 −− and 1 ++ nonexotic hybrid charmonium spectrum from anisotropic improved lattice QCD and discuss the relevance to the recent discovery of the Y (4260) state and future experimental search for other states.

I report on the state of hadronic physics and spectroscopy as reflected in contributions to the HEP2005 Europhysics Conference. Topics of interest include lattice field theory calculations of the hadron spectrum, the continuing quest to account for the proton’s spin, pentaquarks, high-statistics Dalitz-plot analyses, excited charmed–strange mesons, quarkonium spectroscopy, and the new levels as...
